ABSTRACTS
Presentations
Ayoub
Ait Ali:
NGO
Team building:
Working out the puzzle
This
presentation is structured around the following key entries in the context of an
NGO:
-
Perception of the value of teamworking;
-
Identification of the stages in the life of teams;
-
Setting goals for teams;
-
Recognizing and choosing individuals for the key roles in a team.
The
take-home message in the presentation is how to get to the right mix of people,
skills, attitudes and personalities. The psychological and social dimensions are
brought in the process.
Abdelmajid
Bouziane: “ICT and MATE:
prospects for the future”.
Although
MATE has been leading ICT in ELT in Morocco for some years now, there is still
room for improving its performance using ICT. This paper provides some
suggestions in this matter. First it raises the benefits of creating a database
for internal management of the Association. Second, it advocates the
interactivity of its website for managerial purposes. Then it suggests creating
an interactive platform which will allow more virtual contacts with its members
(and non members), SIGs, Local Branches, etc.
Project
Management for NGOs, Mohammed Hassim & Elmadani Fahmi
The
presenters will give an idea about project management within MATE, the
difficulties and problems. Then they will talk about the characteristics of a
successful project. Finally, they will conclude by how to conduct a successful
project within the constraints that MATE works in.
Jamal
Chahidi: Managing Human and Financial Resources. (in Arabic)
Elarbi
Imad: Towards Effective Governance in the Management of NGOs.
The
purpose of the presentation is to highlight the issue of good governance which
is now regarded as a key element in the management of non governmental
organizations. Part one defines what good and effective governance is. Part two
deals with managing human and financial resources of NGOs. Part three discusses
the importance of monitoring and evaluation as appropriate methods to improve
the performance of NGOs and help them to build their capacity.
Abdelkrim
Raddadi: Fundraising Methods and Strategies
Fundraising
for an organization is a tricky endeavor and a challenging operation. While the
right fundraiser can make large amount of money to support a program of your
organization, the wrong one can actually lose a lot staff time and put the
organization in awkward situations. Tough there are no set rules for
fundraising, this paper aims at providing process for identifying, researching,
and contacting potential private sector funders to seek their support for
cultural events and related activities.
The
workshop will work on specific proposal projects and provide material and
formats.
